About

I was born and raised in Sweden but now live in the US. Before coming to the US I attended Media and Communication studies at the School for Education at Jönköping University in Jönköping, Sweden. I later graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from University of South Florida, USA.

Before becoming a full-time translator I mostly worked in the area of tourism, both in Sweden and the US. I have worked as a freelance translator part-time for many years, and on a full-time basis since 2000. I stay on top of what is going on in Sweden by following the Swedish media, I have almost daily conversation with friends and family back in Sweden. I also read Swedish books and watch Swedish TV/movies every week, as well as try to visit Sweden as often as I can.

Translation is just not a matter of transforming a text into a different language; it is about staying true to the original without sacrificing its fluency and readability. You cannot just be proficient in two languages and give it a go. I have deep cultural knowledge about both Sweden and the US.

I am not officially certified/accredited since, unfortunately, there is as of yet no certification available for Swedish translators in the US. If you need your translation to be “certified/authorized” I can still provide a certification for your translation that is accepted for immigration or legal purposes.

I am an active member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and its Nordic Division.

My goal is to provide you with a top-notch translation that will reflect its original as well as being appropriately localized into the target language. I have the latest computer technology and tools to assure you a speedy experience, but above all, quality is my priority.
